Frequently asked questions
What score do you need to pass B1 Preliminary (PET)?
An average of 140 or more on the Cambridge English Scale. From 140 to 152 is Grade C and from 153 to 159, Grade B: with either you get the B1 Preliminary (PET) certificate at level B1. From 160 it is Grade A: the same certificate, at level B2.
Can you fail one paper and still pass B1 Preliminary (PET)?
Yes. There is no minimum score per paper: what counts is the average of all of them. A weak paper is made up for by the others.
