Frequently asked questions
What score do you need to pass C1 Advanced (CAE)?
An average of 180 or more on the Cambridge English Scale. From 180 to 192 is Grade C and from 193 to 199, Grade B: with either you get the C1 Advanced (CAE) certificate at level C1. From 200 it is Grade A: the same certificate, at level C2.
Can you fail one paper and still pass C1 Advanced (CAE)?
Yes. There is no minimum score per paper: what counts is the average of all of them. A weak paper is made up for by the others.
